I got referred to this doctor privately by an ENT specialist a few years ago as I was experiencing a set of bizarre symptoms. My referral letter told Dr S to test for cat pathogens. Dr S was late for the appointment and so instead of reading the referral letter he made his own assessment of my symptoms. I waited 6 weeks for all my blood test results to come back whilst getting progressively worse. In my appointment to get the results I was told all my tests were negative. I asked specifically about the Cat pathogens at the appointment and was told they were negative too. The next day Dr S called me and told me I had to go "The Laboratory" to get more blood tests done. I thought the laboratory was where they tested all the bloods but I then found out it actually a posh clinic in London. Dr S hadn't done any of the tests for cat Pathogens and just blindly sent me to this clinic leaving me to sort out in the waiting room how this was going to be paid for. My insurance company kicked off as they'd already authorised all the blood tests 6 weeks earlier. 3 Days later I tested positive for Cat Scratch Fever. I only found out when my GP called me! Dr S didn't have the common decency to let me know the results himself. His behaviour was absolutely atrocious. He should have looked into why my body was unable to get rid of this pathogen but instead he just dumped me and left me to my GP having of course taken his private paycheck.
